What to Expect

Any construction project for your home can be an inconvenience. Knowing what to expect from your Austin, Houston, and El Paso general contractor can help make the process easier for everyone involved.

star After your contract is signed with our Project Manager, we will place a sign on your property to let others know the company you have chosen and to discourage other general contractor companies from inundating you with flyers and phone calls.

star Once your materials are scheduled for delivery, we will call to let you know.

star When the work begins on your home, please notify your mortgage company so they can expedite the inspection and payment process. If we are handling the mortgage process then we will notify them.

star If you have dogs, cats or children please make sure they are kept inside the home during the time our contractors are on the premises.

star The crews will need access around the perimeter of your home so please make sure all gates are unlocked during work hours.

star If you have contracted us for a roofing project, we will need access to your driveway for the trailers and trucks in order to remove and dispose of the damaged roof. They may leave temporary tire marks.

star We make every effort to keep your property clean during the construction process, but damages to your yard can occur if there is not direct access to the area of your home we need to reach.

star Expect lots of noise, as workers will start early and stay late to optimize working hours. Don’t be alarmed if you see the workers taking long breaks in the summer to prevent scaring the roof in the heat.

star To prevent damage, fragile items on your interior walls should be removed to ensure their safety during the project. Due to the vibration during roofing, poorly taped and floated sheet rock can crack or sheet rock nails can become exposed. IRC will not be liable for this.

star Protect your sprinkler system by clearly marking the sprinkler heads with red tape or florescent construction spray paint so that the workers can see them without difficulty.

star Please remember to move or otherwise protect special or fragile plants, bird baths, exposed patio furniture or special landscaping from falling debris ahead of time.

star Make sure to turn your AC off the days we roof your home so the tarps don’t overstress your unit.

star More than 6000 roofing nails come off during the tear off of a roof. We make every attempt to remove those nails from your yard by using a large magnet roller, but occasionally it misses some.

Working with Adjusters

If you have damage to your home due to wind or hail, you will need to contact your insurance company and report a claim as soon as possible. If you need help with a claim, we will be there to assist you. Our company has a great working relationship with both insurance companies and adjusters. As your Houston and Austin general contractor, we strongly recommend to our clients that you have us involved in all discussions with your adjuster. We work on our client’s behalf to ensure they receive what is fair from the insurance company.

Do not hesitate to call your insurance provider if you feel that your home has suffered some catastrophic roof damages. Shortly after, a trained adjustor will contact you to schedule an appointment to look at the damage. It is extremely important to get the insurance representative's contact information, especially their office phone and cell phone number. Once your adjustor calls, tell them that you would like them to contact your general contractor immediately. Simply call us with the adjustor’s contact information and we will schedule an appointment with the adjustor to look at the damage together. This process not only saves you time, but it will also ensure that our general contractors in Austin and Houston, Texas have examined your home with the adjustor and have properly determined the extent of the damage.

We will help you with your claim!

If you already have your insurance settlement, simply give us a call and have your insurance papers in front of you. We can take your information over the phone, which will expedite the process. If you need help understanding your insurance papers, we will be happy to explain those documents to you. If your claim is approved, your insurance company must pay the claim within 5 business days (15 days if weather related) after they have notified you that they have accepted your claim. Integrity Roofing & Construction can have one of our Austin or Houston general contractor crews at your property within days after receiving your first insurance check. If the claim is rejected, the insurance company must disclose to you in writing why all or part of the claim was rejected. You have the right to reject any settlement amount, including an evaluation offered by the insurance company. Remember, you have the right to have your home damage repaired by the contractor of your choice. We genuinely hope you will choose our Houston area general contractors to get the job done right .
